Water Leak Detection

The objective of this use case is to improve water-use efficiency by optimizing water leak detection through the optimal placement of sensors on water distribution networks.

Quantum computing and quantum optimisation methods offer a new paradigm for solving complex problems that are intractable for classical computers. In the context of water leak detection, quantum optimisation algorithms can be used to determine the optimal placement of sensors within a WDN to improve leak detection. This is a complex combinatorial optimization problem that quantum computers, and more specifically those founded on neutral atom physics, are natively suited to solve.
